How it all got startedAt the ripe old age of 7, Jody began her speaking career when her mother forced her to enter a public speaking competition in the Optimists Club.
While Jody secretly suspected that her mother was clinically insane for this, she humoured the old gal anyway and prepared a speech about helping her Dad do chores on the family farm. Little did she know that this would be the spark that ignited a life-long love for public speaking. |
How it wentJody went on to combine her love of speaking with a passion for connecting with others by pursuing a Bachelor’s of Education. Working with teens in southwestern Manitoba taught her the value of empowering young people to celebrate their potential and inspired her to seek further education in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
This journey brought many opportunities to engage not only in education, but philanthropy. Seeing others face tough times set Jody on a path to do what she could to help others in need by creating the Laps 4 Life Fun Run to support Manitoba families affected by Batten Disease, the #IFIGHT4U Virtual Marathon which supported the Hummingbird Project in their quest to provide care packages to first time chemo patients, and the Team Leroy Yoga Wellness Day, which honoured local homeless hero, Leroy Adams and donated funds to a local homeless shelter. |
An Instructional Designer in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jody provides training solutions in a corporate setting in the form of eLesson and game development, needs analysis, program development, project management, and event planning.
An avid writer, philanthropist, and speaker, Jody is passionate about connecting with local community members through random acts of kindness. A believer that everyone possesses greatness, Jody has made it her mission to make the world a better place, by bringing community together and buying strangers one coffee at a time. |
